In case you hadn't noticed, we love Wisconsin - it's home for everyone involved with this newsletter. We're going to use this edition to highlight the weird and wonderful things we love about the Dairy State!

TAILGATINGYou may have noticed that we're, ahem, passionate about our food and our booze, and you wouldn't be wrong. Tailgating is a magical way to combine those two pastimes with the third prong of the Wisconsin holy trinity: SPORTS! Like, yeah, we wanna see the Packers/Brewers/Badgers play (kinda tough to tailgate for a Bucks game), but we also want to eat nineteen different kinds of dips and have a few beers at 10:30 in the morning. Tailgating takes these normally frowned-upon behaviors and makes them socially acceptable, and for that, we are eternally grateful. Whether you're arguing over important issues (Favre or Rodgers?) or REALLY important issues (boil your brats in beer before or after you grill 'em?), tailgating brings the community together in a safe space: a giant parking lot. Keep up the great work, tailgating!

Every fall, all the true cheese freaks get extremely excited about a very limited drop - Uplands Cheese's Rush Creek Reserve. This absolute banger is produced only during the changing of the seasons, using the freshest possible milk from one specific herd of cows (this allows them to control exactly what and where the cows graze on). This makes for an insanely smooth, savory, sweet, subtly grassy cheese with a texture like custard and a taste that will literally blow your mind. If you ever have the opportunity to get your hands on some, trust us: DO IT. We've got our allotment for the year, now we just need to decide what to do with it!

Is there a better way to dine, especially when you're up north? Hell no! Belly up to the bar, put your order in, and suck down a couple of Old Fashioneds before dinner even starts! You don't even have to think about what to order: If it's Friday, get the Fish Fry, and if it's Saturday, get the Prime Rib, extra horseradish. Don't fill up on the relish tray, cuz you still need to hit the salad bar before dinner. Speaking of which, why do supper clubs always have the best ranch dressing in the world? Is the secret ingredient fresh buttermilk, or is it love? On to dinner, where you can wash down an ogre-sized portion of food with a few more Old Fashioneds. Stumble out into the fresh night air, sated and satisfied. All this, at EXTREMELY reasonable prices. Supper Clubs kick so much ass it shouldn't be legal. Find your own spot, or try one of our favorites - you can't go wrong!
